Forum troubleshooting

One of our forumites is having trouble with the forums. She can't see any graphics - last post arrows, reply/new thread buttons, etc.

I popped into her account - logged in as her so I can see what she sees - and it looks fine to me. So the only thing I can think is that her virus protection or firewall is blocking us.

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

There are plenty of forums out there to go to and see if they behave the same as here. Has she tried to another forum?

Or logging on here from a different computer?

Did she change to another OS and it now doesn't work right?

She says she tried another forum and everything is fine. I logged on with my computer and again, fine.

That's why I think we're blocked in her security somewhere. It's definitely not her account, otherwise I'd have seen what she saw when I logged in as "her".

You can "pop" into another person's account?!?!?!

:shocking:

Oh, no. I am in such trouble right now. :blushing:

If she's able to get to the site and the only thing that's wrong is that the graphics don't appear, and she's able to go to other forums and the graphics there work fine, then I'd recommend clearing the browser's cache and trying again. That's probably the easiest thing to try.

Exactly how to do that depends on which browser she's using. If she's using IE8, she would go to Tools... Delete Browsing History... uncheck Preserve Favorites... and then make sure Delete Temporary Internet files is checked. She can uncheck Delete Cookies and Delete History if she doesn't want to lose those (the last few items should already be unchecked).

Only when I have express permission. I have to change the password in order to get into someone else's account, so they'd definitely notice if I tried to hack them.

Tilted, I'll tell her to clear her cache and see if that fixes it. I'm pretty sure she's using IE, but not positive.
