Foster Homes (or Adoptive) DESPERATELY needed!

2 yr old male Mastiff mix - Nice and friendly guy, but will still need someone that can lead him.

9 month old male Shiba Inu mix, what a pretty guy he is! But he's at a very childish age and hasn't had any training, he needs a home that is experienced with this type of dog or a breed close to it. He doesn't like other dogs but isn't food agressive.

Momma and 6 puppies - mom is a small little girl, maybe basenji/Dalmation mix? The puppies look to have some hound and are almost as big as mom.

As usual after a holiday weekend the shelter is slammed and is full, they need help from rescue and the public to either reclaim their dogs or adopt a new pet.

I was at Prince George's animal shelter also on Saturday, they have 160 dogs.... all sizes/breeds and ages.

If you can't foster you might consider volunteering at some of our events at Petco, we are there the 2nd and 4th Saturday's of the month. We could bring many more dogs if we had more volunteers to handle/hold them for the public to see.

We need foster homes for all sizes of dogs from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs, if anyone is interested in fostering, please contact us and tell us about yourselves and submit an application, then when we find a dog that will fit your household, we could pull it and YOU would have then enabled us to save another life.

Like all rescues, we strive to place a foster in your home that suits your schedule as well as your family and other pets. Please don't hesitate, the shelters are extremely full this time of year!

Sorry, I just picked up a retriever mix puppy about 5 weeks ago and hes only 14 weeks old......

May be able to foster during the winter though... I'll keep you guys in mind.

Angel is an 8 yr old PB German Shepherd who's owner passed away. Like the committed loyal companions they are, she stayed by his side for the 3 days it took to find them. Angel's owner took care of her in his will, unfortunately life changes and the two caretakers named are unable to care for her the rest of her life. She rode in the car with me for 8-9 hours on Monday and was a total sweetheart. We took a break at McD's in King George and she was enthralled with all the kids.

She REALLY needs a bath and brushing.

The German Shepherd? Yes she was spayed a long time ago.

She really likes being with people more than anything else. Right now is sitting behind me on the couch not wanting to be in her room. She hasn't destroyed anything in that room at all. Her daddy had her outside all the time but when she was in the house there was no accidents. I have had zero accidents with her in the house and she is in all day when I am working.

She LOVES her ball and will play endlessly with it. She isn't to fond of the stairs going down at least. She needs work with going down. I put a leash on her and we do a step at a time. She just needs some time also since going through so much change.

she sounds like she is starting to adjust. Bruno also didn't like coming down the stairs at first but now she runs down them and acts as if they mean nothing to her.

Do you know if she had stairs at her previous home before you all at second hope got her? Maybe shes never done stairs in her 8yrs of life and now its a new thing to her.

In the first 8 years of her life she was the only dog and the companion of the man that owned her. She had only two stairs to go up and down with the deck.

She LOVES attention and to be brushed. I just got a furminator to brush her with tonight. It will be done outside..haha..for all the hair.

i bet because its soo darn hot she is shedding pretty badly. Bruno is. I pick up clumps of hair off of her when i brush her the brush gets full fast. (she hates being brushed never liked it but she is going to learn to love it sooner or later). I had enough hair the other day to make a mini coat with lol.

Today she went down the stairs ALL by herself! I was VERY proud of her!!! Her and Tug's are starting to play now.

In the first 8 years of her life she was the only dog and the companion of the man that owned her. She had only two stairs to go up and down with the deck.

She LOVES attention and to be brushed. I just got a furminator to brush her with tonight. It will be done outside..haha..for all the hair.

I bought one of those for my Malamute and it's the best purchase I've made in a long time. I can at least manage the shedding until she goes to get groomed.

Get her professionally groomed. They can restrain her and really brush her out good. It's night and day the comparison between me brushing my dog out and when she comes back from the groomer. I would have to vacuum every day and once groomed, it goes back to once a week.
