Found Dogs - Chancellors Run Road Area

Common sense ain't common
This afternoon my husband and I found two dogs roaming the area behind our place at the Villas at Greenview townhome complex.

One is a rather large German Shepherd.
The other is a rather large Labrador Retriever.
I've attached their pictures to this post.

Both seem to be very sweet tempered dogs, didn't give us a hint of trouble or aggression. They both looked to be older dogs, I'd guess 6-8 yrs old if not older.
They look like they came from the same home as they stuck together.
Both look like they've been out for a few days.
Both were limping and had fairly fresh injuries on their ears.
The German Shepherd had what appeared to be scratches around its throat. He also appeared to be constipated and whined a lot.

I don't have a yard or room to put them in so I had to call Animal Control. The Animal Control officer stated that they had until Fri at the Tri-County Animal Shelter and if no one claimed them, they would most likely be euthanized due to their age and condition.
The numbers for the Tri-County Animal Shelter are (301) 932-1713 and (800) 903-1992.
They are located at 6707 Animal Shelter Road Hughesville, MD 20637.

I truly hope that they weren't abandoned and that someone out there is looking for these two sweet dogs. I pray for their safe return home.

Sad if they get put down... I hope the owners come through.. Why can't they be adopted out? Some people might want older dogs.. :ohwell:

Update:
Just got off the phone with Tri County, checking on these dogs.
(I can't help it these two were so sweet...)

They figured the German Shepherd to be about 12 yrs old. :shocking: I figured he was up there but not THAT up there.

They figured the Lab to be about 8 yrs old.

The lady I spoke to said they had until Mon the 13th as far as what she called their 'stray' time, if no one claimed them before then they would likely be euthanized. She saw no reason why they wouldn't be adoptable, but didn't seem to think they had much of a chance given their age.
