Found: yellow/fawn shepard/lab thingy

Standard "found a lost dog" thread.

We found a yellow lab (looking) mix weighted at 60 lbs with medium length hair wandering in the North Sandgates area around Ridge Road. He is neutered and appears to be middle aged judging by the buildup and wear on teeth but not sure. He is tall for his weight, lean, and has an athletic build. He appears to be house trained but his claws need clipped. He's super sweet and pretty well mannered and seems to be well socialized.

He spent the night in the house last night. We'll keep him until someone claims him or we find a home.

If he's yours or you have information about his owner give me a call at (301) 769-3986. If I'm not home leave a message.

You'll have to answer a few simple questions about him to prove he's your dog.

We'll try and post a photo for him later here.

You need to quit looking for stray's in the neighbors yard! I have an answer for you about your corner. Call me when you have the time.

I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean about my "corner." However you're free to call me whenever you get the time. My phone # is in my first post. Otherwise if you wish you can send me an e-mail with your phone in it since I don't know who you are. I'm sure when we talk you'll explain :)

We've got some REALLY awful neighbors that live behind us by the name of Biel or something (Garage door says "axxhole's garage) but we CALL THEM Sanford and Son's because of the sorry state of their yard and grounds with piles of junk and trash. Every once in a while a "prison escapee" breaks free of the tiny fenced boxes they jokingly call "kennels." Frankly I don't assist in the capture of said solitary confinement victims because I hope they make it far enough away to never have to go back in those awful cages again.

At least they've upgraded from 4 foot long chains tied to trees to the kennel thingies. Poor dogs. I hope sometime that hick gets what he deserves. He and his awful family will NEVER get any leeway from me.

They leave them all winter long out there :( with just enough room to turn around and go back in their dog house. They have to crap right beside the food dish (which doesn't get filled very often). When animal control comes to their house they send someone covertly to the back yard to fill the dishes real fast before the authorities see that they're empty.

The dogs bark and beg desperately for attention 24 hours a day.

I'm sure some of you know who this despicable man is.

Anyways, here are the promised photos of the mutt. I sure hope he doesn't have any kids that miss him. He's an awesome dog. I'd have loved to keep him.

I know it maybe a little far but at the Golden Beach "T" someone posted missing 2 dogs one looks to be a black lab and the other a yellow dog

Help "Invisible Dogs"
Chestr have you had a chance to take him somewhere to get scanned and see if he has a microchip? We'll be at Pepper's tomorrow (on Solomon's, from 12-3, although I'm not usually there till 12:30/12:45...) and I'll bring my scanner if you want to bring him by.

Did the lady (I think her name is Kathy) ever call you about Baxter? She was very anxious to meet her dog's "twin".

Nope! She seemed more then willing to try, but they both worked so the separation part was definitely an issue. It just wasn't meant to be.

It's too bad I missed your message about the microchip check. I'd sure like that.

I'm a real dog lover and I'd love to give this guy to a good home but I have to wait a sufficient amount of time because I'd hate it if he's got some kids or family that's missing him. Finding his real home is the main goal. I just dread that I'm not returning him to a real bad home that he's managed to escape from.

By the way, if you've got a dog with separation problems I can help. All it's going to take is a little phone conversation. I promise. You'll be right as rain within two weeks. I'll stake my job on it.

Please call me about the separation 100% chance I can help as long as you follow my instructions.

Please call me about the microchip. What a blessing! Call ANY time. I'll meet you anywhere you see fit.

I really love dogs and I'll do what I've got to do cause I have a big heart but this new "freeloader" is a real strain on my family right now due to MAJOR renovation being done in my house and we've got some family members doing double duty and sharing bedrooms and stuff while we scramble to get things done. I'm a lucky man because I have a wonderful family who are being very understanding about our little "refugee."

Oh and yes the dog in the photo looks like my mutt but he's a different dog. Certain features are a little off. Pretty darn close though.

You should take him to Pepper's later today and let Kat try the scan.

I'm very curious about your separation procedure. I think we have the crate part worked out. He's not fond of being in there but we're not coming home to any obvious escape attemps or rivers of drool. Our main concern is the destruction he causes when left alone and out of the crate. I'll try calling you on Monday when I have a some time.

We just got back from the emergency vet with a sick beagle. She should be OK but the xrays showed that she was shot with a pellet gun in the past.

A quick investigation in google maps revealed the name "Pepper's Pet Pantry" in Solomon's island.

Would this be the place? I don't know who Kat is but I'd love to have her (or his?) phone number or have her call me!!

It's a whole lot easier than powering up the computer twice a day to check this thread on SOMD.

And if I haven't said it yet... THANK YOU! I love people who are kind to animals.

Thank you, thank you! Don't sweat it about the separation. Just trust me.

Stupid damn critters... They're going to be the ruin of me.... LOL

chestr i sent you a pm as I need help with a dog who has severe separation anxiety if i leave her (she barks constantly and tries to get out of her crate) and even if my stepdad goes to get her when he comes down to my apt she will go crazy looking for me and wont give up for a while. Then when I get back she acts like she hasn't seen me in years.

Yes as I said before give me a call any time you wish.

phone# 301-769-3986.

You HAVE to be willing to make a change for things to improve but just remember, it's not as hard as you think it will be. You just have to grit your teeth and make yourself a silent promise to commit and be faithful to the one or two simple rules that I put forth for you.

I also mentioned that I don't have time to check this forum often so thank you all for your input but we've had a breakthrough and found the owner. The mutt is now happily home with his mommy and daddy.

I will also be following up with them at their request to show them how to keep him under control when outdoors so he won't run again.

I guess they said he's a "repeat offender." Ha Ha that's funny...

This is my last transmission until I need this forum again for something. Too much arguing goes on here for the good of my health so I don't look at it any more.

Don't reply because I won't be checking back again unless we find another stray some day.

Thank you all.

And thanks for the microchip offer but it's looking like we won't be needing it any more eh?

Bye now.
