Found yellow lab puppy

Found yellow lab puppy in 7th district. He seems to be about 8 months old, wearing a green collar. It seems he is someones pet as he is very friendly. I need to find a home for him, I have a dog and can not handle two. If no one claims I am going to take him to Tri County animal shelter tomorrow, I am hoping he may be micro chipped. If you know whose dog this may be please pm me. Thanks so much!

Have you checked the houses in that area? If he has a collar, he must belong to someone....I bet he's scared..

Actually he really isn't he is having fun playing with my dog, my dog is not too fond of him. He slept all night no barking, we put some blankets outside on the deck for him. I just wish I could find who he belongs too he is really a sweet dog.

I'd hang on to him as long as you could and try to find the owner, if he isn't causing you any trouble. The shelter can put down an unclaimed stray in 5 days or so...don't recall the exact time limit. Hang up some flyers, you can get a vet or some rescues to see if he's microchipped. Good luck finding his owner.

I am going tomorrow to see if he is chipped, a friend of mine wants him but I'd hate to give away someones dog if he just got lost from his owner.

Call the shelter and al local vets to put in a "Found Dog" report so they will have your contact info if someone comes looking for the dog. Especailly do this with the shelter as that s the first place people will call looking. Hang on for a few days before taking him to the shelter. You want to give the owner as much chance as possible to claim him.
