Framing?

Had some framed art that has become water damaged...I would like to take the prints and have them re-framed. Hoping someone here can make a good recommendation that is not too pricey. TIA!

U could try Micheals. I used to work there many moons ago (in Waldorf) and they did a nice job and they often offer disount coupons of up to 40-50% on a frame deal. Biggest thing to look for in their matting is if they over cut, so make sure you examine the corners of the mat that surround the print. If they over cut into them you will see it and just ask them to fix it.

We've had prints framed at Michaels (California, MD location) and Frames A Lot in Leonardtown. I was happy with both places and would recommend either one, but both were expensive.

And for a not so commercial option. In the barns in Hughesville, there is a older guy that does framing. Work turns out great and the price is about a third of what I have been quotes from Michaels. Just an idea. I've had three of my diplomas framed there and a custom art work from key west.

Coming from waldorf, down 5 there are the barns where they have the flea market in it. Its open on Saturday and Sunday I believe. Inside the first buidling, right near the entrance if coming from between the two buildings. He's the only framer there. He has a big selection of frames and matt. You can drop it off on one saturday or sunday and it will be there for pick up the next weekend. Let me know if you are looking for any other specific details.

Michaels did an awesome job for me, but they seem to push for framing/matting as expensive as possible. They do nice work, have good eyes for color, but stick to your guns and get them to do framing that fits the art and your wallet.

There's a guy in the camera club who does framing. I'll see if I can find his info. If not, I have his card at home.
