Seems French police were conducting explosive detection training by placing plastic explosives in luggage passing through the airport and misplaced (lost) a bag and some of the explosives as it moved along the conveyor belt. They say it ended up on one of 90 aircraft that departed de Gaulle, though they do not know which one. They also said it wasn't dangerous because it didn't have a detonator.

"Indeed, it's possible that someone will have a surprise when he opens his bag."

:yikes: UFB! :dork:

I thought they used/lost "dummy luggage" for the training.

I saw the report on that bungling by the French on Fox News yesterday. As you say, Uneffingbelievable!

However, you must consider the folks involved with this; the French anti-terrorist arm of the Intelligence community and their military.

I remember years ago, when someone commited a ridiculous misdemeanor - a crime - over there, it hit all the papers and some Frenchman in their ministry was quoted as saying:

"It was not merely a crime, it was stupidity."

Makes you wonder if they even heed their own advice?!?

In this instance I would say that they used "dummy police".

Okay, did nobody but me laugh out loud when they read that????

:stooges:

Oh, it was funny as he!! on the surface vrai, but also take into consideration the time, money, expense, people stranded, scared, and inconvenienced.

All because these bungling idiots, who are not our friends, BTW, can't even account for their training materials?

"Hey, don't blame us - we TOLD you France sucks."
But a "momentary lack of surveillance" led to the bag being lost on a conveyor belt carrying luggage from check-in to planes, he said.
The story of France - a "momentary lack of surveillance".

"Indeed, it's possible that someone will have a surprise when he opens his bag."
