There's the green line that stops on branch avenue down towards Clinton. I usually drive up to the orange and get on at New Carrollton if I am riding around sightseeing for the day. On Saturday's an all day Metro pass is $5.

Go to the Smithsonians - walk the Mall - visit the National Art Gallery - ride Metro up to Arlington National Cermentary - visit the tomb of the unknown soldier - see the changing of the guard. Ride Metro up to Union Station and go up stairs - hang out and eat at one of the cool bistro places. Georgetown/Foggy Bottom Metro. Other side of DC from me - I am in NE.

Shop at any funky kitchy place you see. Thu again, I really dig on Union Station.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to do a little research before I venture out. I've only been to D.C. twice, once for a field trip to the Holocaust museum and once to the Washington Hospital Center. I'd like to finally get out and do 'other things' especially with the girl friend.

If you want a nice mall near DC, go to Pentagon City (2 stops on the Yellow Line from L'Enfant).

Metro is North on 5 in relation to Waldorf. Mind your business and you will be fine on Naylor Road.

You could easily spend all day at the Mall. Air and Space, Natural History, National Art Gallery are some of my favorites. Don't miss the Vietnam Vet, Jefferson, WWII, Einstein memorials or the outdoor sculpture garden. The hot house is really cool, too. The Sackler Gallery is my favorite art gallery.

Georgetown is at the intersection of Wisconsin and M. There is no Georgetown Metro stop. If you drive into the city get on Independence I think it is, follow that until you go under the Kennedy Center, go through the next light then look for a right exit that goes to K street I think? Take that under the Whitehurst Freeway and park in the garage just past Wisconsin Ave. Walk up the hill and Georgetown just kinda radiates out from there.

Go to the Zoo.

p.s. these Vietnam Vet, Jefferson, WWII, Einstein memorials while cool in the day are even cooler at night.

If doing more than one museum, make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to explore and see all that you want to see.

If you want a nicer mall, check out Iverson Mall, located in Marlow Heights. :yay:
