Stop Staring!!!!!
Hey you.. I have a question.

My dog's bowls needs replacing. I have one of those deals where she has two stainless steel bowls that set inside of a plastic bowl holder.

The problem is that for the water bowl she tends to get water in between the stainless steel bowl and the plastic bowl holder underneath and then if I don't clean underneath every few days it gets right yucky. So I want to get away from that setup.

And for her food bowl she tends to end up getting her food all over the floor.

I was thinking about replacing her bowl setup and was wondering about something a bit easier to keep clean. Both the bowl and the surrounding area.

Maybe some setup with one piece bowls and a matching tray or something but I would love to have a tray underneath that the bowls could "clip" into to keep them from sliding around.

You got anything like that over there?

I know you weren't asking me - but I have a messy eater - and he's got ceramic bowls that inset into a metal scroll looking thing (kind of a bracket that just holds the bowls around the rim with metal - nothing to sit on), and I place a hand towel underneath and throw it in the washer when it's dirty. I've looked at the doggy placemats they sell that are heavy duty plastic as well, that you just wipe up.

Yep I thought of something like that as well. I was just thinking about looking for something she would be less likely to scoot around and slosh water out and knock food out.

I don't think there is much I can do about that. But her current bowl sits in that plastic thingy and it's unhealthy to let water get between the two because I forget to check it and if I let it go a couple of days the water stagnates. Not good.

Well, it never gets scooted around - it's pretty sturdy and I guess the weight of the bowls help keep it in place. But the food will continue to be knocked out. :ohwell: Of course my messy one takes a mouthful of food out of the bowl and then drops it in front of the bowl and then picks his kibbles he feels like eating out of that and repeats. The towel has really made cleanup a lot easier for me.

Then the towel may be an option, but maybe you should consider a bib. :lmao:

She is a pug and drips water all over after she drinks. That I'll just have to live it. When I am in the kitchen and think about it I just throw the dirty kitchen towelon the floor and scoot it around with my foot to get the water up. Otherwise I end up with wet socks. :lmao:

Yep familliar with the picking the favorite chunks out. Just changed her food a few weeks back and she definately has her favorite pieces. The rest end up getting swept up into a dustpan it seems. I won't be buying this food again. :lmao:

I guess the Ceramic does have enough weight to minimize the scooting around. if frequentflyer doesn't have something better I may go that route.

Jeff, I do have ONE of the raised bowl holders that migtig is talking about. I do not have plain stainless bowls in stock but do have some ceramic bowls and decorative stainless bowls with removable rubber bottoms.
How big are your stainless bowls? I can measure the holes ot the stand when I get to the store. Also how tall is your Pug?
