Does anyone know where I can buy a pint of shucked oysters? I thought Kellums but much to my surprise they're closed the entire month of February. I was hoping to get some by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks in advance.

Chesapeake's Bounty in St. Leonard usually has them but they're pretty far out of your way. If you decide to go over call first:

See I don't get that. That's the second time I've seen wine and oysters combined. It's ALWAYS oysters and beer. Oysters and wine is like combining peanut butter and sardines. Just yuck.
There's a place in Hollywood, but I can't remember the name. I think EVERYONE knows I don't eat boogers.

If you were thinking of Kellem's, then you should try Blue Point Crab Company nearby in Dameron (near Carroll's Equipment). They sell oysters, too.

Zimmermans on Friendship school road usaully has some, I haven't been by there to see if their sign still says they do, and Daly's (?) off of Sandgates may have them.

Really didn't know they carried oysters. That must not be their stand.

Chief"s (Dent) usually has shucked oysters for sale.
ohhhh forgot about them.

Hey while I have your attention a little...oysters are being purchased to go along with the deep fryer BF wanted for his birthday. We're not going to cook them until the weekend and I know they'll keep in the refrigerator but...I'm thinking that I'll bring them home w/me tonight and drain them, pat them dry, dip them in seasoned flour, then egg and batter and freeze them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment. When they're good and frozen I can pop them in an airtight bag and stick them right back in the freezer until we're ready to cook.

Now a man that worked at Kellems told me a long time ago that you want to set up the oysters after you've prepared them to fry. He recommended that they be refrigerated at least an hour or longer - said he even freezes them.

BF never heard of it and said I'm nuts. I've done it that way before but only froze it for the day. I don't know why I freeze them for a few days - seems logical.

Who's nuts, me or him?

Never heard of such a thing. My brother makes the best fried oysters ever crossed lips and they come straight from the jar they were bought in and in to the batter.
