"Tyler Dippel, the Gander Outdoors Truck Series driver suspended indefinitely by NASCAR last week, was charged by New York State Police on Aug. 18 with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree in his hometown of Wallkill, New York, NBC Sports has confirmed."

"A spokesperson for the State Troopers said Dippel’s court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in Wallkill Court in Middletown, New York."

Dippel has been reinstated.

A friend had left his back pack in his truck and his name was on the prescription bottle, so they arrested Dippel because the friend was not in truck at the time. The friend came forward to claim it and the charges were dropped.
