Viddy well, my droogs, viddy well.

In June 2007, as the American military surge reached its peak, a band of National Guard infantrymen who call themselves the "Bad Voodoo Platoon" was deployed to Iraq. To capture a vivid, first-person account of the new realities of war in Iraq for FRONTLINE and ITVS director Deborah Scranton (The War Tapes) created a "virtual embed" with the platoon, supplying cameras to the soldiers so they could record and tell the story of their war. The film intimately tracks the veteran soldiers of "Bad Voodoo" through the daily grind of their perilous mission, dodging deadly IEDs, grappling with the political complexities of dealing with Iraqi security forces, and battling their fatigue and their fears.

"Here we are. It's about 2:30 in the morning on the 2nd of October. We have been on the road for a while. ... Wasn't too excited to get this change of mission. The stretch of road between Anaconda and Speicher, known as IED Alley, it's probably one of the worst stretches of road in theater."

Their idea of conflict is arguing with the cashier at K-Mart that their latest video game was marked down to $49.99 not $79.99 as the barcode indicated.

But those that didn't serve and support the war are chicken-hawks and those that served and support the war are mercenaries.

Those that didn't serve and don't support the war are patriots and those that served and don't support the war are heroes.

For some reason, they sound like they should move to Venezuela, where the President/Banana Republic Dictator has views more in-line with their own.
