Frontline

Has anybody used Frontline for fleas and ticks? If so, are you able to wash your dog after you have applied it to his coat? Or do you have to re-apply it after every bathing. It seems too expensive for only three applicators.

Ok. I have one more question for you guys. When you apply it to the dog, it is only put in one spot, correct?

I don't use it every month. I only use it twice a year. In the spring and then I just applied it to the cats and dogs a few weeks ago. Never had a problem with fleas. I don't bathe them much either, if at all.

The vet told me not to wash the dog two days before or after. After you apply it its kind of oily but after a few days it goes away. Thats when I wash them.

Where they can't lick it. I use it every three months. Once its dry, wash at will. I would use nothing else then Frontline. @pets.com

You're going to want to wait at least 2-3 days after applying the frontline to your animal. the product works with the skin's oils and just waiting for it to dry will not keep your animal fully protected. Also, you're going to want to use it year-round, considering fleas and ticks are active during the winter months as well. I work in a veterinary clinic as a technician, and we see a LOT of lymes positive dogs every day. It's a tick-borne disease that's preventable. There's aslo a lymes vaccine, too. If you don't have cats, Advantix is another great product. It gets fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. :) Make sure to wash your hands after applying, and keep your pet away from little kids and the such for a few hours.
