Puppy loves ice cubes. I throw a handful into the pool and she swims around looking for them. Great way to work off some of that puppy energy and she never gets bored with it like she does with a toy.

I've never had a shepherd that liked the pool until this one, she can't get enough

Husband said we're looking at $40K + to have an inground :eyebrow: That tends to put a little "crimp" in the budget !!!

Jam out with ur clam out
would love to find someone who will just let the dogs swim in the pool... I would even pay for it... and clean the pool afterwards.

it doesnt... they see it as a hazard and an extra cost to future homeowner

Exactly. I have a 6 foot privacy fence around my entire yard with key locks, plus the pool is caged, the doors are double locked and still my homeowners insurance is through the roof.

The grandpup loves cubes!!! I ask her if she wants a cube, and she gets excited, then sits by the fridge until I get one for her! Sometimes I put a few in her water bowl, and she "bobs" for cubes!

Mine can reach the button on the fridge and I'm trying to teach her how to get her own. I'm sure this will end up biting me on the butt, but it does have a lock button just in case.

:roflmao: Just got a mental image of "Pavlov's" dog hitting the ice button over and over!! On the bright side, it would take a whole lot of ice cubes to flood the house!!!

Ever walk into the kitchen and step on one? They are hard to see on my floor, stepped on one and almost went down, caught myself. :killingme

Well I live down half mile private drive, my closest neighbor is .3 miles up the driveway, have nothing in my backyard except 200 acres of state protected game lands. The only danger I would have is if a deer or turkey hopped in the pool. And I"m never moving :yahoo: Now can I have my pool please

my first SAR german shepard loved the water. apprehensive at first, but when he saw the labs go in he was right behind them, after that couldn't keep him out.

At first mine wouldn't go anywhere near the pool, then I got her a little baby pool, put it next to the big pool, she played in that til she got too big, then I'd get in the big pool and totally ignore her, she didn't like that, so she started coming after me, running around the outside. One day she stood on the top step while I was ignoring her and jumped in so I would pay attention. Ever since then, I can't keep her out.

My daughter laughed when I told her our dog has webbed feet, she didn't believe me and when I showed her, she was amazed. When I spread her toes, there is actually a web and when she swims, she spreads her toes and uses those webs and she is quick in the water.

No more dogs !!!!! And I saw a few swimming in some YouTube videos but mine would TRY to go swimming at the ocean and I had to tie a long leash to her because she'd start to sink !! They live the kiddie pools though
