Come join Second Hope Rescue and support Pit Bull Awareness Day. Many fun events for dogs and owners. Silent auction, children's magic show, moon bounce, raffles, face painting, doggy costume contest, pumpkin decorating, wildlife experts, pet photographer with costumes, vendors, food, search & rescue exhibitions, and many rescue groups with plenty of wonderful dogs and cats of all breeds looking for a great new home. A few questions if anyone can answer them:

Since it is at the fairgrounds, will some of the activities be indoors if it is chilly out?
How many other rescue groups are expected?
Is the Calvert K-9 Search team doing demonstrations? (they are awesome!)

Most of the activities are inside expect the pet parade and the blessing, but we can move the blessing into the large building if it rains.

Pet Parade.....

Since this event is in support of Pit Bull Awareness Day, the parade will start off with the Adopt-A-Bulls, followed by the publics bulls and mixes, then the other rescue groups, followed by the rest of the animals (any type of animal is welcome!).

Do you know if the Calvert S & R team will be doing demonstrations?

Calvert K9 SAR are an awesome group - the dogs are amazing! I can't wait to see their demo. We have one scheduled for 10:30, and another at 2 pm. If it's raining, we'll use the indoor ring at the fairgrounds. If the rain happens to hold off, we'll use the outdoor horse ring for the demo's.
Many of the activities will be inside. We have about 15 or 16 craft vendors coming! They range from a charcoal portrait artist, floral arrangements and hair accessories, jewelry for women/men/kids, reflexology, an art gallery, a trophy shop, pet sitters, dog kennels, even a custom made apparel t shirts, dog bowls/leashes...we've got a little bit of everything.
We also have many great silent auction items - I have to send a big thanks to Clevalley and his wife for one of the donated items - a very beautiful gift basket to help you relax. Thanks again!

CAWL, SMAWL, TriCounty Animal Shelter, Feral Cat Rescue, HSCC, and Pets W/Disabilities.

It looks like there is an event going on in Annapolis that a number of groups had already committed to.

BUT - Second Hope is bringing enough dogs to make up for an extra 2 groups....

Should be a nice time with a number of awesome animals looking for their forever homes...

You're right, it will be lots of fun. Don't let the rain stop you as most, if not all, activities are being held in buildings so you'll be able to see all of the activities, shows, crafters, etc in a dry environment.

Not sure my fat butt will fit in that costume anymore. I would have tried but I'm overseas right now won't be back until rearly Nov.

The event went well despite the prediction of awful weather! I am glad the forecasters got it wrong; for the most part! I am sure all the volunteers from Second Hope are exhausted from the hard work that went into pulling this together.
