"Admired for your sound analytical intellect and open embrace for all, your popularity on both sides of the aisle of the United States led to your illustrious reputation and outstanding service of 36 years as a Democratic senator from Delaware beginning at a tender age of 29," Frederick said of Biden.

Who wrote this fellatious lie? A Biden puppeteer or a Howard U staffer? Either way it is extremely revealing.

A degree from Howard University has been worthless since the 80s.

Just watch the news for any student that makes the news for a protest or political gathering. They havent' mastered 2nd grade english yet will have a doctorate.

I'm not so sure to bust on them so easily - just because a university has graduated a slew of nitwits, it doesn't mean it can't produce scholars.

My second college was the University of Maryland, and I guarantee they produced a crapload of idiots (myself included).

When I was contemplating getting a degree in '94 part of the CSM intake was the 900 series for English. When the screening is ensuring you don't only know Ebonics then something has seriously gone wrong with our education system from Elementary through HS.

I mean the education system had 12 years to perfect the English language.

Well CSM is like the 13th grade and not a real school.

Okay, that made me shriek with laughter :lmao:

Maybe compared to them Biden IS an intellectual powerhouse. 🤷

But if all you need is the piece of paper saying you know stuff you already know, it's the cheapest way to get it. It's not like Harvard and Yale are turning out big thinkers.
And I think that it's done much better that way - because the first two years of college are substantially easier, and the texts and material covered - at least for me, in science and engineering - were the SAME. SAME books.

The downside is that entry into a prestigious university AFTER the second year is not so simple. It shouldn't be but it is.

I think the limiting factor here is the talent pool, most Ivy League bound students don't make the 2 year stop-over in junior college. I went to a fairly "prestigious" school (though not an Ivy League) and I both transferred credits into the school as well as did a reverse transfer so I could knock out an associates in a related field in only a couple of classes. I spent a good deal of time with the counselors to get this accomplished and I was told by more than one that acceptance to the college was actually easier for students that had completed an associates. Not to mention many junior colleges have automatic admission for partnered universities.

THAT much I found out, and I may need to look further. My son is never going to college, but one or two of my daughters MIGHT.
The only thing I did see was that some junior college/university arrangements are kind of exclusive. I still have a few years.

I’m guessing you don’t know many Harvard or Yale graduates.
I worked there for several years - and I had friends down in New Haven. At least in the 80's, you still had legacies where Junior still managed to get in due to Daddy's wallet - but yeah, most of the kids there were smart, especially the hard working types who were there on mulitple scholarships.

That was back in the 80s. 40 years ago.
