I worked for a door and window company in Omaha from1987 to 1991 in the service department .as an advisor. It's actually a very easy fix. I did mine a while back. I guess that's why it's made of plastic, disposable piece of the opener.

Mine has a tension adjustment. Too tight and it thinks it is obstructed and stops.I worked on it yesterday.
Pain in the butt for me.
I have 12' ceilings and climbing up and down that ladder after dropping stuff.
The the chain at the front came off.
I got it all back together but.
With the door disconnected the carriage goes up and down just fine.
With the door connected to the carriage it only goes up about a foot and stops.
I will look into it next weekend.
It is a door that I only use when doing yard work (lawn tractor).
I did have help here, but all he was good for was drinking my beer and pushing the button for the garage door.
Thank you for the offer to come over to assist.
Damn good beer, tooI did have help here, but all he was good for was drinking my beer and pushing the button for the garage door.
The tension springs seem to work fine.Springs on the door should be adjusted so you can easily open it one handed, and it comes back down into the opening about half a foot.
The opener is not made to lift the full weight of the door.
Reads like you have it properly balanced. The tension springs seem to work fine.
Door is easy to push up and stays level when it is up where ever I stop it at.
