I watched it this evening and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I will say, it is probably not for everyone.

What is it about the movie that makes you say that? I was considering watching it.

I agree... weird movie! Saw it in August, and that's all I remember about the movie is that it was strange. Not the blockbuster, see it again strange. But the "I'm glad that's over" strange...

I posted that I "enjoyed" the movie, which I did. More importantly, to me, is that I felt moved.

To answer your question, and to use Oz's post as an example, I feel that you'll either get it/get moved by it or find it unappealing.

That's what I can offer. Hope it helps. Rent it/buy it, see what you think. Let me know.

What was it about? Is it the one with Josh Hartnett?

As I recall, there was truly a neat twist to the movie. But it took the long way around to get there, and the series of events was just plain strange...

I prefer movies that I just can't stop talking about when you leave the theater. Sixth Sense did that to me. This one did not.

I guess I should go rent it; it is on my "Movies to Watch At Some Point Because They Might Be Relevant To My Life" list. If they filmed it in NJ, I bet I would recognize alot of it. :cheesy:

Hey, AMP! Let me know if/when you get around to seeing the movie. I'd like to know what you think.

Saw the movie this weekend, in NJ coincidentally. It sort of went *poof* at the end, didn't it? Rather a dark movie, but I had to cheer when Largeman went off his meds. Was it Natalie Portman in the lead? I thought she was pretty good in her character. The other actors and actresses were just...very...odd. I could not get into the father's character after I finally figured out he was Bilbo Baggins. The story was pretty dense, but I thought not played with any real depth. Was this based on a book? I forgot to look.

I did recognize some parts of Livingston. Not sure about the sinkhole/canyon thing in Newark. WOnder where the Noiseless Velcro kid's mansion was filmed, or if it was a set. The fireplace was to die for!

Glad I saw it, any parent issues I had don't seem so weird now. :cheesy:

Without getting into meanings, theories and dualities of purposes of different things that I kind of felt from this movie (because I SUCK at describing what think things mean :deadhorse )...

I think there was a reason the end sort of went *poof*.

And, yeah, that is Natalie Portman in the lead! She is such a good actress, IMO. I remember her from "Beautiful Girls" back in the mid 90's (she was a kid), then again with Susan Sarandon in "Anywhere but Here". I take it that she also just won a Golden Globe for "Closer"...

The other characters, to me, completed the film's "scenery" and again, represented deeper meaning.

All in all, the fireplace was the most to be desired, I agree!

I read on IMDb that Zach Braff (Largeman) wrote it/has the writing credits and it was originally titled something else. I have much respect for him now - I always that he was funny, but now I think he's super creative. Again, JMO.

:peace:
