Garmin c550

Just purchased one online. I think I got a pretty good price ($150 less than Best Buy/Circuit City - and yes, it is brand new).

Does anyone else have this model? If so, are you pleased with the results? I did lots, lots, lots, lots of research and this appears to be the best fit for me since I want the Bluetooth (my phone isn't currently compatible according to the Garmin site but they say they are updating regularly. I will be eligible for a new phone soon with Verizon anyway and that one will most likely be compatible). It also has the traffic receiver built-in and a 3-month subscription included.

Thanks!:howdy:

Pookieboo!!!
I have the c550 unit too! I picked it up in May. The traffic receiver is great too. I would subscribe, but I don't travel as much these days.

What experience have you had with the traffic receiver? Has it in fact redirected you when you've come up on a traffic incident?

I bought mine for $313 at buydig.com. Please tell me I didn't get ripped off!

No, you got a really good deal. It has help me once when I was headed through traffic in North Carolina once.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I always research to the nth degree before buying any electronics. I'm looking forward to using mine both here and when we travel for vacation. Hopefully, no more getting lost on the way to the hotel from the airport! :yahoo:

Garmin is the bestest.
I have to agree. I am very pleased with my system. The only thing that is not on par is the Bluetooth - it is so staticy (is that a word?) and crackles so bad that you can't hear the other person. I've contacted the customer service department of buydig.com and hopefully they will have an answer for me.

You do have to be careful though. The first day when I was coming home from Annapolis and went 50/301/4, as I was approaching 260, it was telling me to take the exit. I can't imagine why but I suppose if you are traveling somewhere and don't know any better it won't upset you that the GPS directions took you wayyyyy out of your way. :howdy:
