CAMARILLO, Calif. -- In the biggest two-week decline in pump prices since October, gas fell six cents a gallon nationwide over the past two weeks.
Analyst Trilby Lundberg said increased certainty about Middle East oil supplies brought falling crude oil prices, which helped lower the retail price.
The latest Lundberg survey put the nationwide average price, including all grades and taxes, at about $1.70 a gallon. That's down just over 6 cents from the March 21 survey.
Lundberg expects the price to continue to fall in the near term.
