I always assumed "good guy Gates" was just his PR team working overtime while he jet sets around doing vanity projects. He was an aggressive ******* in the 80s/90s, no reason his personality would suddenly change just because he has donated money to his own foundation and spends some of the interest it accrues curing malaria.

Agreed. MSRs are a significant improvement. If we have to rely on nuclear for the foreseeable future, SOMEONE has to be willing to plunk down the capital.

And I have little doubt he HAS changed. He is probably smart enough to see that these kinds of plants will make a fortune in the future.

I've been hopeful for a real breakthru in fusion tech, but it's looking less and less feasible with our current tech base. There needs to be a breakout tech on the level of the wheel or transistor to infuse a new way of reaching that goal.

I don't really have a problem getting rich the way you say, the problem I have (if any) is trying to buy people's good will and gaslight everyone into thinking your a great person.
