Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. My legal residence has been Leonardtown all my life (meaning I moved around for the military alot). Anyways, Right now I am in Iraq and I am coming home for a little break. During my break I am trying to talk to a few contractors to build a house for me, so I have something to live in when it's time to come home. I did a search and everything that came back was a little old. Please help me and recommend a contractor that will build a house for me. I am sure since you are recommending them, they will be worthy and not lazy. Thank you very much.

You should AVOID Raymond Sapp from the Golden Beach area of St. Mary's County. He is not a man of his word like he claims to say that he is.
He will buy the cheapest materials he can find.
His craftsmanship leaves alot to be desired.

Thanks for going to Iraq! It's appreciated!

Thank you. I will definitely not use him then.

Ripple Brothers, but you may have quite a wait. Houses are going up all over the place, so you'll have a wait regardless of who you go with.

Ricky & Tommy Benefield, Buddy Gibson, George Buckler all very good.

Thank you, I think my mom and dad or possibly someone in my family know Gibson or Buckler as they are big time County names.

I don't know how long it has been since you've been in this area but prices have changed considerably in the last few years. Good luck and safe trip home. :patriot:

We had some remodeling work done by James H. "Harvey" Morgan a couple of years ago. He and his folks did a good job and the price was reasonable. He also builds houses (built a really nice one out on Jones Wharf Road, a few months before he did our work for us). The phone number is (301) 373-2000.

:yeahthat:

These guys are awesome. A couple of my friends had their houses build by the Ripple brothers and said they built a good quality home for decent prices.

1 - Rick and Tommy call their company Crossroads. And they may be pricey but they do quality work with attention to detail.

2. Mikey, you know Rick and Tommy? :yikes:

:really: I went to school with them from elementary through the first two years of college. And they lived right up the road from me.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
You can give Andy Buscher a call. He is doing my BIL's house and it looks great inside and out. When he says a subcontractor will be there on Monday, the sub is there on Monday, and that says a lot. 301-884-2667

Ripple Brothers 301-373-3549
Spence-Wood 301-884-3080
I have talked to all of these guys in the past two weeks and I was told that they can break ground within a month of getting my permits. Hope this helps.

Don't go with T.L.C. They didn't show up a lot of the days they were supposed to be here. They didn't clean up afterwards. When we called to complain to the foreman he was usually drunk by 3:00PM.
