Genesis 11:7 This is the account of Terah’s family line.
Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot. 28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth. 29 Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milkah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milkah and Iskah. 30 Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.
31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.
32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.

All this news about the Middle East and ISIS has been really bugging me. So I googled "ISIS in the Bible". Then I googled "Islam in the Bible" and learned that Islam probably goes back to Abram and Lot. Lot also came up in another thread recently. I said that if I am following the God of Noah and Lot than I should be more concerned about what God has to say about what is going on in Kentucky [with Kim Davis] than what people think. So I figure.... with all the news, and Biblical names to tag to the news... maybe I should look into where all the hubbub might have originated. Turns out Lot is quite a character.... so I am going to follow Lot through the Bible and find where it takes me.
It might help a little to see the maps of what is going on here. So I googled "Biblical Maps of Genesis".
OK... so Noah had three sons [Shem, Ham, and Japheth]. Abram and Lot were from the line of Shem. Abram was Lot's uncle.
