Genesis 12:14 When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that Sarai was a very beautiful woman. 15 And when Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace. 16 He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.
Oh no.... If Sarai becomes part of Pharaoh's harem then they'll never get her out.

Understanding the place Abram and Sarai have in Gods redemptive plan, we realize how serious this is. God did not want Saris womb to be defiled by a gentile king, because the Messiah will come from her line of descendants.
The easy English commentary says this.
Pharaoh was the king of Egypt. ‘Pharaoh’ was not the name of this king, but all kings of Egypt were called Pharaoh

The woman was taken into Pharaoh's house - Pharaoh appears to have been the common appellative of the Cuthite shepherd kings of Egypt, who had conquered this land, as is conjectured, about seventy-two years before this time.
