Genesis 27:27 So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said,
“Ah, the smell of my son
is like the smell of a field
that the Lord has blessed.
28 May God give you heaven’s dew
and earth’s richness—
an abundance of grain and new wine.
29 May nations serve you
and peoples bow down to you.
Be lord over your brothers,
and may the sons of your mother bow down to you.
May those who curse you be cursed
and those who bless you be blessed.”

This is what studylight.org says about the verses.
Isaac blessed Jacob as the spiritual head of the family. Isaac had the right (not Ishmael) to pass on this blessing related to the covenant of Abraham. The son (Jacob or Esau) who received this blessing was able to pass it on to his descendants.
The words of the blessing were filled with pictures of the Lords rich bounty, and they echoed some of the words of the covenant God made with Abraham.
Again, it is important to see it wasn't the bestowal of these words upon Jacob that made him blessed. Instead, Jacob was blessed because God chose him long before . What mattered was that God said the older shall serve the younger (back in Genesis 25:23), not that Isaac said be master over your brethren.

The easy English commentary has this to add.
Dew is water that appears on the ground. It comes out of the air, especially in the morning. The country where Isaac lived, Canaan, had very little rain for a part of each year. So at that time, dew was very important.
‘Let nations bend themselves down in front of you.’ This shows that you are their master. It shows that they give honour to you. And it shows that they are not your enemies.
‘Be a ruler over your brothers.’ This clearly gave the right of the oldest son. Isaac believed that he gave this right to Esau. Actually, he gave it to Jacob. Genesis does not tell us that Jacob had any other brother except Esau. So perhaps ‘your brothers’ means ‘your brother and your other relatives’.

I still think that when God was talking to Rebekah about the two boys in her womb...He was telling her that the pain was caused by the boys fighting. I think he was telling her that the battle would be lifelong. IMHO He was telling her the future which would be the result of the combined actions of these four dysfunctional humans.
