George Washington, was born and grew up as a boy on his daddy's ranch in west Texas. One day, Daddy came home and found the tall mesquite tree in front of the house had been chopped down.
Dad called George over and asked him if he knew anything about it.
Young George, stood in front of his dad and said, "Father, I cannot tell a lie. I used my little axe you gave me and chopped that tree down".
Father nodded his head and said, "Boy, that just proves you ain't from Texas. You cannot be a Texan if you cannot tell a lie, especially big ones. We're shipping you off to Virginia".
