Germany gives thumbs-up to Bush's Iraq plan

BERLIN, May 25 (Xinhuanet) -- German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer on Tuesday gave a positive response to a UN draft resolution on Iraq which was introduced by the United States and Britain.

"I think there is a very good basis on which we can seek and reach a consensus," Fischer said after meeting with visiting Latvian Foreign Minister Rihards Piks.
