A special task force in a Colorado city has recommended banning red and green lights at the Christmas holiday because they fall among the items that are too religious for the city to sponsor.

There's a big difference between religious tolerance and "chuck it all into the wind so as not to offend someone". Reminds me of a South Park episode (huh, South Park is IN Colorado..) where they removed all traces of any religious indicators for the holidays, then complained when the Christmas pageant was a total bust....

Good question - How about red, white, and blue instead of red, yellow, and green? Close enough to the current colors, and keeps the safety one (red) the same. Could you picture the Ward Churchills and San Franciscoans of the world reactions to THAT?
