Getting into National Harbor

Never been there, and might take a drive up in a few weekends. If you go to maps.google.com, it shows that you have to travel all the way up to the beltway to get into the right roads to the harbor. I do remember seeing one map (not sure where) that showed an access from Oxen Hill Road, but I can't seem to find it again, so I guess it really doesn't exist.

Anybody have an easy way to get there, or tips for driving there ?

From Maryland 95/495 (alternate route #MD alt 1)
Take Exit 3b to Oxon Hill/MD 210 Indian Head Hwy. Turn left onto MD 210/Indian Head Hwy then follow signs to Oxon Hill Road and turn right. Stay on Oxon Hill Road and then turn right onto National Ave into National Harbor and follow signs to National Harbor waterfront district.

Ok, got it, but I'll be coming up thru Waldof on 228/210. It sill looks like I have to drive all the way up to National Ave off Oxen Hill.

I remember seeing a map that exited Oxen Hill directly into the back of the Harbor parking area so you didn't have to go all the way up to National Ave.

Coming from Waldorf 228/210, you can also turn left onto Old Fort Rd. (next stoplight past Fort Washington Rd. theres a shopping center with McDonalds on the corner) once you go about 500yds there is a stoplight with Livingtons Rd. if you continue, Old Fort turns into Oxon Hill Rd. and you can follow that up to a street that goes into National Harbor (National Ave.) on your left (maybe about 2 miles or so ) mostly a residential area, less traffic then going up to Indian Head Highway and Oxon Hill Road intersection.

Saw that on the map, looks like the least painful way in. I guess the map I saw with a back-door entrance off of Oxon Hill was an early concept that never got implemented.

STEELERS NATION!!
When I went, I got on the Beltway and it has it's own exit. That is prolly the easiest way to get there.
