Thanks everyone
Mentok, you have a nice vision that I can appreciate. Are you trained or self-taught? What are you shooting with?
I like the variety here, from the expansiveness and balanced exposure of the radio towers to the graininess and high contrast of the skyline shot. The power plant(?) is a good one too. Mind disclosing where that is?
You have started here with a bang. Keep posting!
Thanks
Actually, I'm pretty much self taught, although I've done a lot of reading, in particular, I love night shooting so I've tried to read up on it a lot, and I try to get out and do it as often as possible.
I shoot with a variety of cameras. In the first few pics I shot w/ a Canon Rebel XT with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens, which is not my ideal setup for night shooting, especially in 16 degree weather. The battery died pretty quick out there...but thats another story.
The last two shots were taken using a Canon AE-1 Program using a 24mm f/2.8 lens. I used Kodak Ektar 100 film, which I was rather surprised at some of my results. Otherwise I shoot with a Canon TX, a Mamiya RZ67 (mostly black and white) a couple of Holgas, and two Polaroids (SX-70 and 103)...and I just fixed up two Argoflex 75's for Stereographic photography, and I just cleaned and old Kodak Brownie Hawkeye for some medium format experimentation.
Probably more info than you wanted, but thats pretty much what I roll w/
Also, the power plant is up in Philly, if you want to know more go ahead and PM me...although at the moment, I think the power plant is being used for filming of a movie, but I do plan to make it back up there in the next few months.
Nice work, I like the locomotive the best.
Thanks
Yeah, I love steam engines, and I spent three nights while I was up there shooting that one...
