I can't remember how to gt my desktop to load and just go to the desktop.. It keeps stopping at the point I have to click my user name.

I just reformatted today and can't remember how to get it to skip asking me for my user name.. Anybody know how to do this?

Go in the user accounts and change the don't login setting.

control panels | user accounts |

change the way users login on or off ... or

Windows Key + R | control userpasswords2 press enter | clear the check box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

Thanks guys.. I got it.. Haven't done that in a couple of years so was brainfarting.

Was trying something new with the application that controls my scanners the other day. Dunno why but fritzed it to where everytime I would start the application and try to fire up a scanner it would crash the application. Everything else on the PC worked fine.

I fought it for a couple of days, uninstall, Reinstall, defrag. Did every thing I could think of then finally said screw it and decided to simply wipe the hard drive clean and start over.

No biggie there. That PC is only used for scaner stuff so was easy to back up my files and put on another machine then bring them back over later.

But, in all actuality now I am happier with the PC as it hasn't beened dumped for a few years. Should run a whole lot cleaner now since having been cleaned up and everything is back to new setup with latest and greatest drivers.

Only problem now is it's sister computer sitting next to it might just get wiped and redone since I am on this kick now. :lmao:
