It's not scary at all Watercolor, I went a few years ago and I thought it was pretty lame. We did have fun and they showed an interesting video afterwards, but not scary at all.

No its not scary as far as Montster, witches, etc... it's more historical re-enactments from when the area was Civil War Hospital.

The Ghost Walk at Point Lookout is elaborate and interactive. Walkers leave the ranger station and step along the 'Road from Hell," which is what the path to the prison camp was called. Along the way, re-enactors stage events that actually occurred. There's a trial of a prisoner who falls dramatically into a waiting coffin when he's found guilty and shot. Prisoners try to hide among the walkers to escape the camp when the tour leaves the stockade.

After the walk, a hayride to the Point rumbles past "The Disasters of Point Lookout." There's a car wreck that actually happened when teenagers playing 'chicken' lost control. A mortician practices his trade at one site, asking for volunteers - and usually having some little boy offer his kid sister. The lighthouse itself is reputedly haunted and the lighthouse keepers have lots of stories to tell. The county's most famous semi-former resident is the "Lady in White," Lucy Taylor. She's familiar to locals who spot her wandering through the county looking for her family's gravestones. This weekend, she searches at Point Lookout.
The Ghost Walk at Point Lookout is set for October 27-28. Gates open at 6:30. Tickets Re $4 per person. They must be pre-bought and are given for a specific time. For more information, call the park office 301-872-5688.

Tickets went on sale in September, better get one now if you want one, unless what I have heard is wrong(which is possible)they sell out fast.I got mine last month to be on the safe side.I could care less about how scary it is,I'm mostly going for the historical reasons cause history is a big interest of mine. You can order by phone and have them sent to your address or go in person to Point Lookout.

As you might know, Point Lookout state park had stopped it's annual Ghost Walk nearly two years ago now. However, the Kiwanis Family of St. Mary's County has offered to take up the service. The Spirits of Point Lookout (an event of historic and supernatural proportions) will be held on October 28-29, 2005. Tours leave every six minutes from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM each night. Tickets on sale now; advance ticket purchase is required. For details on tours and ticket sales, go to www.spiritofpointlookout.com or call 1-888-316-5679.

:fixed again:

It would be fun if we all picked a day and time, and bought tickets to go together.
