Gift Cards- Too Impersonal?

Turns out Mother's day is Sunday, and I have not bought a gift for my mom. I wanted to get her clothes, but don't think I'll be able to pick out the right size style, so I was thinking about getting her a gift card to a department store. I know she loves Lord and Taylor- but are gift cards too impersonal? Should I buy something instead, and let her return it if she doesn't like it?

My oldest and family got me a coffee theme gift. Coffee gift card, chocolate covered espresso beans, a beautiful coffee cup and biscotti. I got it early because they were up here last weekend.
My youngest called and I asked for a gift cert. from Bath and Body or some wine, flowers and any lotions. I have everything else I need.

Gift cards are a fantastic gift from children.

My mom loves gift cards (as long as it's to somewhere she can use).

I am making my mom a basket full of a lot of her favorite stuff.

Thanks guys! I never made it over to L&T and ended up taking my mom out to dinner at a favorite restaurant, which she loved! Her birthday is coming up at the end of the month though, so I'm definately going to go the gift card route - sounds like a no brainer!

Happy Mother's Day! :howdy:
