advice needed please. Bohman and I are switching the piglet from daycare to a nanny. We'd like to get a thank you gift for the current day care people but we have no idea what an apporpriate gift might be. any suggestions?

Is this a daycare center or an in-home daycare?

Anything is greatly appreciated. The token of kindness lets us know that we didn't personally do anything wrong to make you change places.:huggy:

For our daughter's daycare for Christmas we bought the whole center (staff) lunch. We went to Subway and Chick-fil-a and got a platter from both. We also gave them each a card w/ a small gift attached to each. The lunch thing is very thankfull and they still thank us.

One year, when we were moving and the kids had to go to a new daycare, I got my old provider and little 4X6 picture frame that had "We love Ms. XXXXX" engraved on it and a picture of them in it. It let her know that they did love her and she said she loved having a reminder of the kids she's watched.

Another time the girls picked out a smallish chalkboard that had little resin teddies and apples on the frame and said "You're the best" across the top. She used it in the daycare area of her home to keep notes about kids getting picked up early, etc. You can find that sort of thing on-line at various places. I'll have to google to get links...I'll post them if I find any.

My daycare provider is big into crafts. She doesn't sit the kids in front of a television while they are in her care. A gift card to Michael's would be appropriate in my case. Just think about what her hobbies or personal interests are.

A basket full of girlie items such as lotions, foot soak, shower gels, ect. This way she can unwind once the kiddos are gone and enjoy pampering herself.

The center staff appreciate any display of "thanks". An individual (small) gift is something that lets the person know you did an excellent job of caring for my 'little one'.

She's in a center, moving to in-home next week.

Thanks for the suggestions, we really want to do something nice but were coming up blank as far as ideas.

I am so very blessed
For Christmas I gave my in-home daycare provider a family Movie Fun Night kit: a gift card to Pizza Hut, a box of microwave popcorn, a brownie mix, a pair of super-soft comfy socks for each family member, and a newly-released movie.

If it were me, I'd greatly appreciate both - but Bath and Body is awesome!

You are so sweet. Can I be your next day care provider? :huggy:
