Girl selling books????

Hello,

OK first off there is a girl who claims she is from Arizona State and she is here to work with parents of Appeal and Patuxent kids.. Then She proceeds to ask if I had a few minutes. At the time No! We got back from my sons ball game and we was waiting for our pizza. FYI it was 8:45pm at night, who in the right mind comes to a person ( Stranger) house that late... So she tells me of a few neighbor that she has sat down with. SO what do I do; I called the neighbor that she talked too. Come to find out that she is trying to sell these educational books. There are 3 books and I believe that is is around $300 for the books( books you probably can buy cheaper).. Well !!!Now I am pissed off... At the time I thought she worked for the school. Now I know that she is just a sales person. For one I hate it when a sales person comes to my house and two I hate people who have no respect to leave a family alone at that time of night. Well I am mainly pissed off because she makes it out that she working along with the schools. When I went to the school to ask and no one I talked to that work for the school system heard of her.. Now There are a lot of parents that have run into her and I am surprise that she has not be ask to stop since she is doing this in CRE.
Now Today while I am trying to get my kids ready for school and we know how hard it is to get the kids ready and yourself, Well then there she is at my door again. WHY!!!! Why dose this girl insist she come to my house at a bad time. This time I am trying to get dress and my son had to tell her that I can not come to the door. What makes this girl think I can sit down and talk to her if I wanted too at 8 am in the morning when she clearly knows I have kids... The nerve of some people.

Now Should I call the office of CRE and tell them that this person is soliciting in the Ranch or should I tell her to just get lost and not worry about it??? Have any of you came across this girl also????

True story:

A friend of mine's nephew sold magazines door-to-door. You know the kids - they practically invade your home with their spiel about how they're a college student, trying to win a trip, help orphans in Guatemala - that sort of thing?

Well, my friend's nephew got into an elderly woman's house with this line and beat her to death.

So not only should you not let strangers into your home, but you should report strangers in your neighborhood to the police so they can check them out.

As far as I know the CRE has a strict "NO EFFING SALESMAN" policy that has been in effect for at least 100 years.

I believe the CRE will be getting a call from me today. OH trust me this person did not come into my house. She is crazy if she thinks she is.. I have kids to protect. Not to say that she would do anything but you can not be to sure. Plus this could be a scam... MY neighbor told me you pay for the books then she will mail you the books in Aug. She might have been sucker into her sale pitch but I am not going to give a person money up front and wait for books to be mailed to me.. I said it sounded funny. Ok well I am going off to call CRE.. Thank you for your advice.........

As a homeowner and mother of a school aged child in the CRE I would appreciate that you call the board, also I thank you for letting us other mothers know what has been going on, since I, have a husband that works most nights, and am home alone.

Well isn't that a bunch of crap. I had the same people (person?) knocking on our door here in LP this past weekend. Somehow claimed to know that we have a kid, and did the same line about having talked to our neighbors. She got a surprise, though, when she found that our kid is 6 months old. We both agreed that 6 months is a bit early for books, and I sent her packing.

She was persistent, though. When she first knocked on the door, I ignored it. 5 minutes later, I figured she must have left. Nope, knocked on the door again. I figured if I didn't talk and get rid or her she'd be there all day.

I've only bought one thing from these types of people...and I did it just cause I was so mean to the guy and he put up with it He looked two shirts away from homeless and was selling this heavy duty household cleaning crap. I told him if it would clean the crap off of my outside light I might consider it ( I went back inside to finish making dinner)...he got out the brushes and polished that baby right up and knocked when he was done (about 15min later)..I then told him I had little ones and pets and was concerned that it would be toxic so I didnt want it after all...he assured me it wasn't...so I told him would you feel safe putting it in your mouth...to which he actually took a drink of the crap. I had to buy a bottle just for that.....

I heard about that girl a couple of weeks ago making rounds in CRE. I wasn't in the middle of the conversation, so I don't remember the details, except that she was pushy, and the books (from what the speaker could tell) were crap, especially for the price.

I got to supreme, Hubby got pepperoni, Kids got ham.
The new Pizza hut rocks!! Plus to top it off they are not just a pizza hut they are a Pizza hut and Wing street.. Yay! I was very happy with my first order. We still have tons left over.. Can resist the buy one and then each one up to 5 pizza's are $5 each..

One of these guy was at my house doing the same thing except when he tried to clean my "brass" outdoor light he took off the brass colored paint. He just looked so totally embarrassed and said "have a nice day" and left quickly. I actually didn't mind and it was good for the laugh. Everyone else get yelled at usually.
