SUPPORT FOR JOE TITUS
Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Member and Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad President Joe Titus has been hospitalized with internal bleeding. After approximately 10 days they have finally located the bleed and are planning a repair procedure. Joe has used in excess of 31 pints of blood as of Monday, April 30.

In an effort to show support for Joe Titus and his family, the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary is planning on hosting a Blood Drive in his honor. While we cannot donate blood directly to Joey, we can help keep the local blood bank supply plentiful.

The Blood Drive is planned for May 17 at the Ridge Fire House, 13820 Point Lookout Road, Ridge, MD from 2 - 6:30 pm. In order to ensure that we can proceed with this plan, we must have a minimum of fifty (50) people signed up to give blood that day. If you are willing and able, please consider donating.

To register for the Blood Drive send your name and phone number to auxiliary@ridgevfd.org <mailto:auxiliary@ridgevfd.org> . You will receive confirmation of your registration within 24 hours. Questions may be directed to the email address or to 301-872-5047.

Even if you are unable to donate blood, you can still show your support by telling all your friends, neighbors, and email buddies. Your support for this event is greatly appreciated.

I wanna be a SMIB
Joey is a wonderful man, I will gladly pass this along. Everyone say a prayer for him that he recovers quickly.

I am so very blessed
I'm going to drag my family down for this event so we can all contribute. Joe was very helpful and very compassionate on my mom's last ambulance run to the hospital.

Lemme just give some of my .02. I live in the Ridge area for awhile. I have had to use their ambulance services a few times. They were the most helpful, friendly, and comforting people that I've ever met in my life. While working at Raley's years ago, I got to meet several of them. Always a pleasure. :yay:
