My in-laws made me go there. No TV, cell phone or internet service for a week. :jameo:

It was pretty though, nice hikes (yes there are bears out there on the trails), and fondue every afternoon!

Nice place to visit, never want to live there. I just got back 2 weeks ago.

Places to stay..not sure, I have a place to go. Google it because I remember small motels right near the Going to the Sun Road.

What to do...backpack, camp, enjoy nature, find a train ride through the mountains, white water raft, fish and relax.

Wow.. no communication at all for a week.. not sure I could handle that for a week.. is there enough stuff to do - for a weeks time? or would like 4/5 days suffice?

Ok.. another Glacier Park question.. Is there enough to do for a week? or should we split it - between Glacier & Yellowstone? How many hours drive is it from Glacier to Yellowstone? Sorry, I know, alotta questions..

We went to Glacier last year in the fall, right before they closed the Going to the Sun Road. Great place, really beautiful. We did 2 trail rides. One went to Sperry Chalet, which was 7 miles up hill (and back). Really beautiful. There are so many great hikes. We started in Waterton National Park in Canada, just on the other side of the border from Glacier, and made our way back through the park. We stayed at two lodges inside the park (worth it). Took a cruise on the lake there as well. If you like nature and critters, definitely go. If you're looking for bars and nightlife, not so much. They have camping as well.

We flew in/out of Kalispell, MT (via Denver) and stayed there our last night. Cute little town w/ some good restaurants.

Outside of East Glacier park, there is a very good little restaurant called "Two Sisters Near Babb" - and they had great margaritas and pie.

Here's a redacted version of our itinerary - they close the main road in mid-to late September, btw.
