Aligator in St. Mary's County. But this quote struck me the wrong way...

“I’m just concerned that you have people who might go out and try to capture it or kill it,” Walker said. “I would just ask people [not get involved].”

What is wrong with people getting involved? I don't believe there is anything illegal about killing an alligator. Gator bites are good eatin'!

Walker would not confirm where the gator is presumed to be located out of safety for the general population.
who’s safety?

The general population of people? Or the general population of gators?

Southern Marylanders are idiots. Not as dumb as Texans, but close: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...eat-and-jumping-infested-waters-10367039.html

When some of the yahoos (meaning mostly rural pioneers who've moved here) see the publicity the guy over here got for killing that alligator I can absolutely see it becoming a "Hey y'all, watch this" moment.

Like the guy who shot a paper wasp nest out of his tree here a few years ago. Pissed those wasps right off and dented a couple cars with the B shot falling on them.

Or other rural pioneers setting up a "Confrontation Line" to keep the alligator free.

Or the guy over here who claimed it was "tame".

well, to be like a gator, you have to act like a gator....

I'm growing my own....this little guy is living in my kitchen ceiling light feeding off the flies and stinkbugs. I rekon when he gets about 12 pounds, I'll get him out.

Omg yesterday evening about 15mins before closing we had a customer come in and spend $8 on sticky traps to catch the gator she just saw running around in her kitchen. She said that thing had to go!

Reminds me of showering with geckos on the shower wall in Hawaii.

I can understand why they don't release info on where it is if the gator is in someone's pond.

If it's in a public body of water, I want to know, so I can avoid it. When we go to Elms Beach, if it happens to be low tide, the kids love to walk back to the swamps. Would hate to have them stumble upon a gator!

So - we have ONE article of one person who evidently has video evidence of an alligator whose size is not given - so, for all we know, it's a foot and a half - and Southern Marylanders are idiots because someone reported it to animal control.

No evidence that anyone actually tried to take matters into their own hands. It was merely conjectured that they should NOT.

To further make the point that Southern Marylanders are idiots, a link was provided that had nothing to do with any Southern Marylanders - who by the way called animal control.

Granted, there are colossally, galactically stupid people in any population, but I'm not inclined to believe they always represent the whole.

Unless they're Democratic politicians.
