God Hates Religion

I agree that God does not like religion.

People can be religious about anything, a car, a house, a yard, a garden, a forum.

A building is not The Church nor is any denomination. The Church is the body of believers in Jesus.

Believing there is a God or in The God is not enough. Satin and his demons know God is real. God wants a personal relationship with each and every person on the face of the planet. He loves us and He wants us to love Him as a child loves a father. He is the Father, the Creator, of all mankind. Like a good child, we should obey Him.

Religious church people try to impress God by what they do. People can do nothing for, give nothing to, God except give their loving obedience.

The cover from the Moody Blues LP, Every Good Boy Deserves Favor, seems to almost capture the idea.

The detail of the background is missing from this on line version of the cover. In the background of the original cover for the vinyl LP are some boys trying to get the attention of God (the old man) offering a teddy bear and toys. The boy in the foreground appears totally Innocent with bright, clear, blue eyes.

We need to come to God in child like faith offering nothing but ourselves.

I agree. The problem is in how one approaches God in forming that relationship. Christians will say you have to go through Christ. Jews say you have to observe the Torah. Muslims say you have to adhere to Allah and hear His Prophet, Mohammed. Buddhists state the Eight-Fold Path, which is not even a path to God, but to Enlightenment. Hindu through a myriad of manifestations of God and various rituals.

For someone who is indoctrinated to these religions, it is often hard to strip all those traditions and rituals down to its core. Even in the Christian religion, there are barriers that keep people from experiencing that intimate relationship with God. All the rules and regulations seemed to keep people at an arms distance from God.

Really, the true approach is to clear one's preconception of God and look upon God as a child to a father. The only requirement ought to be a broken and contrite heart, one that looks to God for forgiveness and restoration.

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." - Psalm 34:8

While I agree that denominationalism creates barriers, I disagree with some of your post. Christianity, not denominationalism, is completely inclusive.
John3:16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Whoever is completely inclusive. The other point I disagree with is there is only one name given in all the earth through which all mankind must be saved.
Acts 4:12"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
Even the Jews believe in the coming of the Messiah; it is just that most of them do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. The Jews were looking for a conquering king not a sacrificial lamb. Next time Jesus returns, it will be as a conquering King.
