Rocky Mountain High!!
I just received word of this. These dear sweet people breed and rescue Golden Retrievers and have for over 20 years, in Denton MD, the dogs are their kids. Now they need help and prayers desperately.
When their power came back on after an outage, their house exploded taking with it 11 of their 12 dogs, and and everything else. Jackie and Jerry are both in critical but stable condition, unable to communicate, receive calls or visitors, or see each other. This absolutely breaks my heart.

As some of you may know, fellow TKC members Jackie and Jerry Pental lost their house on Sunday to fire. It totally destroyed their house, taking with it all of their possessions. But the worst part is it also took their hearts. In that terrible fire they lost all but one of their beloved 12 (?) dogs. As most of you know this wonderful couple not only bred goldens, but were perhaps the most active people I know, in their involvement with breed rescue. Now they are the ones who need help. Both are still in the John Hopkins Burn center, in critical but stable condition. Both are on ventilators and can receive no visitors or calls. The saddest thing is when they recover enough to be able to return home, there is no home left. There will be few warm kisses and few wags. We can not replace the loss of their golden children but we can help make it easier for them to start over. THEY HAVE NOTHING LEFT, all was lost in the fire. An account has been set up at the Providence bank for the Pentals. All donations big or small can be set to: The Pental Fund, P.O.Box 33 Denton, MD, 21629. Also, any gift cards for food, clothing, home supplies, etc. are very welcome. If you did not know Jackie and Jerry personally, they are in their sixties, lived very modestly, and every extra dollar they had, went to guarantee that their dogs wanted for nothing. Please keep Jackie and Jerry in your prayers. I will send an update as their conditions change, or their needs become clearer. As fellow dog lovers, please do what you can. As one we are small, together we are mighty. Thank you Brenda Hasbargen traindontcomplain@msn.com

Dear TKC members, this is just to give you and up date on Jackie and Jerry Pental. They are both still in Bay view Burn center. Jerry is in critical condition he has pneumonia and is receiving dialysis. Jackie has had a blood transfusion for anemia and has also had pneumonia but is stable. Both now have tracheotomy tubes to help with breathing. None of these conditions are uncommon for people suffering from smoke inhalation. So they are still in need of your prayers. Also please remember the Pental Fund PO 33 Box Denton Md. 21629 Thanks Brenda traindontcomplain@msn.com
