There are much more brutal methods of torture you'll find by private militias
Nowak has yet to make an official visit to Iraq and said such a mission would be unfeasible as long as the security situation there remains perilous. He based his comments on interviews with people during a visit to Amman, Jordan, and other sources.
Now THAT is credible.

That's like saying "Waldorf is ghetto. I've never been there, but I went to Ridge, and they told me it was ghetto."

militias, terrorist groups and government forces
That's Iraqi government. Way to blame the U.S. for something another government is doing.

I'm throwing the flag on this story, anyway :bs:

Reports from Iraq indicate that torture "is totally out of hand," he said. "The situation is so bad many people say it is worse than it has been in the times of Saddam Hussein."
"Many people", huh? What does that mean? Is that like "me and others"? Because "many people" in the US think animals should have the same rights as humans. And "many people" use a Mac. Not to mention that "many people" are allergic to shellfish. Does "many people" make a general consensus?

Nowak added, "That means something, because the torture methods applied under Saddam Hussein were the worst you could imagine."
They were? But...but...I thought Saddam was a kindly old gentleman who only wanted peace and love for kite-flying children? I thought the torture didn't start until US troops came in?
:sarcasm:

So this information is based not on first-hand observation, but stories that he's heard? And AP presents it as a credible story?

I think the UN ought to run over and visit their new BFF, Hugo Chavez, if they want to see some human rights violations, and not worry theirself about stories they've "heard" from "many people".
