We had that too. And A&W with carhops. And King's, which I think is specific to Lincoln, for cheese frenchees. I don't have childhood memories of McDonalds.

Wasn't A&W a west coast chain? I didn't hear of A&W until 1970 when my brother returned from a graduation trip to Colorado. He brought me home a heavy glass A&W root bear mug.
