That's pretty awesome. :yay:

But what the hell was a two year old doing alone in the backyard anyway? It's not like they move all that dang fast that she'd be able to get a mile away, and no one notice??? Even if she got on the dog to ride, I highly doubt that she would have been able to hold on that long.

You would be suprised how fast they can get away. Boy was in the backyard when he was 2 riding his tricycle when I went upstairs to put away laundry. Cam back down 15 minutes later he was gone. He heard the ice cream truck took off down the bike path behind our house on his bike to find him. I looked and looked, got on my bike and went looking, then switched to the truck, nothing. I called all my friends and they all went out looking too, nothing. I was freaked so I finally gave up and called the cops. They called me back a few minutes later and had him. The cop pulled up, boy in the back seat with a big freaking ace cream grinning ear to ear. Ice cream AND a ride in a cop car all in the same day. Se was riding along following the music and some lady about 1/4 of a mile form the house stopped him and asked him who he was and what was he doing. He managed to blurt out ICE CREAM MAN !! She called the cops about the same time I did.

Just about the same exact thing happened when my youngest was 2, of course his less daunting parent was watching him at the time.

When kids hear the ice cream man coming, they really lose track of reason.

I think mothers are instinctually more possesive. B thinks I'm nuts because when we're outside Noah is stuck to my side. If he has him outside he'll let him go around to the side of the house while he's out front. God help him if I come outside and see Noah in the side yard on the tractor and B in the garden out front. He's caught many a ear warming but still insists that I'm being too protective.

I just let boy go now. He has to tell me where he is going but I odn't insist on him being in my sight.

Well he's old enough now. I'd let my nephew go certain places within reason but he's not 2 either. I am a little protective I'll admit. Even when we're at family functions I insist that one of us be with him. Not because I'm worried about him running off, moreso because I'm not a big fan of everyone elses parenting. :frown:
