Good 'sucks'

The day before leaving for vacation is a good 'suck'. Especially when it's a Saturday (no work distraction). We are SO ready to roll.

Pacing around, watching the clock...

It's like Christmas eve. Damn.

What are some other 'good' sucks?

I hear that...

...I' ve played 4 times this year, #2 was Fathers day, then Monday then Thursday.

I finished Thursday bird on 17, #1 handicap, 3 GREAT shots then yank left bunker on 18, lay up, fattie 15 yards short, thin long right in 4, skip across green, leave 15 feet short, 3 putt from there.

God, I love this game.

I had shots at birdies, had some pars..Can't really complain, didn't chunk but a couple shots. They were having the club championships later in the afternoon, so the course was in great shape, but the greens were killers. Two birdie putts I had lipped the cup and went 5 feet beyond the hole, barely touched them. My sister ended up birdie/par at 17/18, she was estatic. 17 is a par 4, dog leg left, she played it perfectly and had a 3 footer for her birdie. 18 is a par 5 and she had a sand save for her par.

Its hard when your memories are about where you used to hit it and find that you can't get it there, whether its due to lack of playing or age, but there's still no better way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Try 7 weeks alone
If you're unhappy at the prospect of 7 weeks on your own, that means you're not doing it right. Shoot, I STILL do the happy dance when the kids leave for their other parents' house for the summer!

If he'll take me on vacation, I'll tie Pete up and slap him in the face with liver, or whatever they did in that movie.

Railroad

Routinely Derailed
Getting the last of the power washing done (this morning) and also getting the last of the edging of the driveway done (also this morning) and getting the weed-whacking done (also this morning). Spending the hot part of the day in the cool house, housecleaning. Hearing compliments from Mrs. RR puts all the good in the suck.

I'll try  I do look forward to it a little but I end up bored. The pain part is like yesterday listening to Boy on the way up to his mothers complain. Amazing how the tone has changed in just a year. He is getting older and seeing more and he is giving it the :boo: vote. I give it 2 more years before I have to deal with tears and begging for me not to make him go.
