Regulations hurt businesses in many ways.
FARs in particular. The gross overhead overload on small companies like ours that is caused by FARs and DFARs run amok is one of the reasons we completely stopped selling anything directly to Uncle Sam, with the one exception of their credit card purchases (maximum $10,00).

This has created an entire industry of re-sellers...companies that buy from us what the gummint needs and then take care of the voluminous requirements to be "compliant" before delivering on to the gummint. The cost adder is huge, of course....but who cares..its just taxpayer money.

Sounds like one of those things which could drive inflation!

Yep. We needed to buy 35 kits of a thing, each one cost 12k. Couldn't buy direct, small company that wasnt all FAR'd up. Added 3K to the cost of each kit. The intermediary did nothing, no value add at all. And most frustrating was the layer of "Telephone" it added.
