The Denver Post - Colorado above 100 percent of average snowpack

Brrr! It's downright chilly today.
Weather is not the same as climate. It can be cold in one place, but overall over a wider system it is warmer slightly.
Even Bush admits global warming is happening.

What I find ironic though is that Gore making his "carbon footprint" bigger by flying a jet to go skiing. He wants my friends to give up their SUVs, but he did something that probably spewed more CO2 than my friend's SUV did all last year combined.

The actual "warming" in average temperatures occurs in the Northern Hemisphere's winter months. So you should expect the winter snows to be less in the Northern Hemisphere consistently, which we don't see.

Ahh, but you forget that as well-intentioned a person as Al Gore is, he is still part of the Clinton 'me' generation. It's OK for him to flit about the world in his Gulfstream, but you or I shouldn't drive a recent, well-maintained automobile without getting pangs of his remorse.

He is royalty. We are the serfs.

I drive a very sensible and economical car because I believe in using the right tool for the right job. And I don't look down my nose when some soccer mom beats me off the stoplight in her V-10 Expedition. She has to fill the tank, not me. Her needs differ from mine.

Speaking of filling the tank... Al's G-IIB has a fuel capacity of 23,300 lbs (10,600 kgs for those who voted for Carter). Roughly 3500 gallons of go-juice. Paid for from his tax-exempt foundation.

A lot of us admit the earth is in a warming cycle.

The debate should be why/
We have scientists on both side of the issue , some say it is a cycle , others say it is manmade. Those who believe it is manmade seem to believe we can change what has been the fault of 100 years of industrial revolution in a year or so by destroying the economy. Those who say it is cyclical seem to have studied the earth and found that it has gone through this many times but admit the need to clean the environment as the US has been doing for several years, and will continue to do.

Now there is a third theory. The Al Gore theory. That theory says lets take advantage of these frightened citizens by selling them a product that doesn't exist and get rich doing it.
First we have to frighten them even more then rip the dollars from their accounts by phony carbon credits while we enjoy the benefits of our get rich quick scam.

Actually for those that voted for Nixon because it was Ford who signed the Metric Conversion Act of 1975.

I AM today signing H.R. 8674, the Metric Conversion Act of 1975. This legislation establishes a national policy of coordinating and planning for the increased use of the metric measurement system in the United States.

To say that this legislation is historic is an understatement. The question of a common measurement language is, in fact, nearly as old as our country. President George Washington raised the issue in his first message to Congress on January 8, 1790. He called at that time for a uniform system of currency and weights and measures. He repeated his request several times thereafter.

President James Madison also urged Congressional action on a measurement system. Fifty years later--in July 1866--Congress did pass legislation making it legal to use the metric system in U.S. trade and commerce.

Oh, and the act was further strengthenned....by Reagan.

I disagree.....but I suspect there may be an element of truth to this be it intentional and willful of the Kyoto supporters or as an initially unintended result of future abuse and scamming by the treaty's participants.

I don't blame him.

If I thought the world was in a slow-cooking microwave, and everything was going to burn up, I'd go skiing to while I still could too.

I can't ski, bum knees. But surrounded by snow in a hot tub with my favorite lady and a hot toddy sounds good.
