ANNAPOLIS, MD—The Governor’s Grants Office will host its 15th Annual Grants Conference on Monday, October 21 at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Join over 600 attendees including nonprofits, grants professionals, and community leaders for a full day of networking, panels, exhibition tables, and professional training designed to increase capacity for grant awards and grant compliance.
“Grant funding is the lifeblood of community programs, constituent services, and capital projects. Grants are essential to supplementing the needs and priorities of all communities in Maryland,” said Jennifer Colton, director of the Governor’s Grants Office. “It is vital for the Grants Office to raise awareness and educate as many as possible on the impact and availability of grant resources.”
A keynote address luncheon will feature Dr. Robert T. Grimm, Jr, Director of the Do Good Institute of the University of Maryland, School of Public Policy. Dr. Grimm is the Levenson Family Chair in Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership. His research and writing on philanthropy, volunteering, nonprofits, civic engagement, and social capital has been featured in prominent outlets, such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, Fast Company, and MSNBC.
Attendees can choose from 24 presentations delivered by nationally known experts on topics such as Impacting the Opioid Crisis through Nontraditional Funding Opportunities, Preparedness and Disaster Assistance, What’s Hot and What’s Not in the Uniform Guidance, Fraud Awareness, Using Software to Improve Grant Management and Reporting, Homelessness a National Priority, and other topics of interest related to finding and securing grant funding.
