What's the best in car GPS device on the market for under $175? My Garmin broke so I'm looking into getting a new one.

I have a Navigon 7100 it wasnt cheap when i bought it, but that has dropped. I know they have some lower end models which are loaded.

Consumer Reports recommends the Garmin Nuvi 200, at $120, as a best buy, and rates the Garmin Nuvi 350 ($150), Nuvi 205 ($170), and Nuvi 260 ($170) highest of those under $175. The 350 and 205 are traffic optional, while the 200 and 260 are basic navigators. The non-Garmins don't rate quite as high; the Tom Tom One 130 ($150) and Tom Tom One XL ($150) are the highest rated non-Garmins.

What happened to your Garmin? Don't leave them in a closed car on a scorcher day. It has killed the batteries on our C330 and a Nuvi 600. My BIL says that if I read the owners manual, I would have known that. They still navigate but the batteries are toast. All GPS's have faults but the Garmin has the least. Tom Tom has a lot of fans but the two that were in our family got dumped for Garmin Nuvi's.

Walmart online is a good place to get a GPS.

Well, as I was driving down the road it fell from the window and was stopped short by the fire wire type power cord. The socket for the cord was messed up and when I opened it up to put it back in place it fell out into my hand. turns out that the jolt broke ever solder joint attaching it to the circuit card. Since I'm not a 2M tech and don't know any good ones I thought I'd just get a new one.
