George Floyd Lead Attorney Tweeted Columbus Girl Was Unarmed. NY Times Leaves That Out.


On Tuesday, after the Columbus, Ohio police shot and killed Ma’Khia Bryant, 16, who had threatened two other teenage girls with a knife, but before body-cam footage of the incident was revealed, high-profile attorney Benjamin Crump, who had led the legal team that represented George Floyd’s family, leaped to a conclusion, tweeting that the Columbus police had “killed an unarmed 15yo black girl named Makhia Bryant.”

In a report on the incident, The New York Times decided to sanitize Crump’s tweet, quoting him but leaving out the part of the tweet where Crump said Bryant was unarmed.

There was a Blue Bloods episode I recall where the city had a social worker ride along with the cops. They took a call where a mentally challenged teen was threatening his mother over how loud he was listening to music. The social worker defused the situation. Then later another call to the same place where the kid had assaulted his mother and was threatening the mother with a knife. The social worker tried to defuse again but this time the kid grabbed her and threatened to stab her. Then the cops had to solve her screw up.

"Mental health professionals" are typically mental themselves, so I'm not sure how much help they'd be in most situations. But I think these cesspool cities should certainly try. Defund the police completely, get rid of all police presence, and employ unarmed social workers to go out on calls. I think that's what the voters in these cities deserve.

James, a left-wing Democrat activist, tweeted out a photograph of the police officer, writing, “YOU’RE NEXT. #ACCOUNTABILITY.” James included an emoji of an hour glass, which is used to signify that time is running out.

The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) responded to James’ tweet by writing: “. @KingJames , with his vast resources & influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful & extremely reckless. The officer saved a young girl’s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.”
