Great Campgrounds

So its that time of year again, when I start planning the family camping trips for the summer. I could really use some help, so if you know of any that you think are great, please let me know. Here are the requirements:

1. Must have water on or close by for fishing (this is a deal breaker, since hubby will simply not make it even a day without fishing)
2. Sites must be shady with trees.
3. Sites must have electric and water
4. Campground must have bathroom facilities
5. Must not be TOO expensive. If I wanted to pay $75+ a night I'd go to a hotel.

**Bonus to campgrounds with: hayrides, campstore, gamerooms, playgrounds, ceramic painting, ice cream parlors ect....

Here is my suggestions:

Gettysburg Campground- We went there in Oct 2010. The positives: Stream side camping, with electric, water and cable hookups. On site playground, shuffleboard, vollyball, mini golf, gameroom, icecream parlor, peddle car rental and stocked campstore. Daily entertainment such as ghost stories, dJ dance party and ceramics. Free rental of all equimpment needed for outdoor sports. Bathrooms were very clean. Sites were shady. Very close to the town and battlefields. Negatives- Sites were a bit cramped.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks for the help.

Bethpage has raised it's rates very high this season.

We were just talking to another couple tonight at Salsa's who said the rates have gone up again this year....like every year. Our friends had already made reservations last year for this years Mem Day and Oyster Fest, so they will pay last years prices.

gore in winchester Va would probably suit your requirements. Lots of fishing and off roading opportunities. decent sites and both bath house and outhouse facities

Camp Hatteras just north of Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks. A little expensive that the well water is a little salty but right on the beach and just beautiful.

x2. Fishing at the Cove is not bad in the lakes..and the shooting range is a nice touch if you are in to that (I am). It's one of the best places around if you own ATVs and include them in your recreational plans.

The Cove is not particularly well equipped to handle RVs either; only the Camp 1 sites have electrical hookups.

Bath houses aren't the best...but I've certainly seen far worse.

We used to go to Monroe Bay Campground near Colonial Beach, Va when I was a kid, and it fits all of your requirements.
